Abstract: Against the informational and propositional character of knowledge, the idea that understanding is not a form of knowledge will be developed, since it is related to veritism and reliability, while understanding (comprehension) has to do with explanatory, objectual, technical relations, as coherentism had suggested for the problem of justification. The turn in epistemology has to do with the problem of the value of knowledge, now in terms of understanding, since this gives order and systematicity to thought. Then it will be argued that the fundamental feature of science is representational capacity, and the means to represent are not true beliefs but modeling, that is, functional theoretical models as idealization of the most relevant characteristics, leaving aside those that are not, depending on the objectives. Finally, the thesis is defended that mental experiments do not generate knowledge but rather broaden scientific understanding, understanding this as the most important cognitive achievement. In other words, mental experiments are a narrative way of generating mobile models of scientific theories. Mental experiments should be understood as actions of thought that allow to deepen a theory, to refute a hypothesis, but mainly have didactic functions of explanatory nature. Mental experiments contribute to understanding and rely heavily on imagination and narrative. Mental experiments are a very useful cognitive tool since, not being true, they allow fictitious approximations that can be refined in terms of their adequacy to the theoretical models.

Abstract: Since the reform and opening-up, the Communist Party of China has led the Chinese people to continuously open up new realms in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In 2016, Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the People's Republic of China, first put forward the concept of the "four-confidence"(the confidence in the path, theory, system and culture) at the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Adhering to the "four-confidence" to guide talent training is an important way to promote the development of China's education. In 2020, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people are united as one, and not only achieve the victory of COVID-19 against the epidemic, but also achieve many victories in the fields of science and technology and people's livelihood. Taking the great achievements of China as an educational opportunity, it is of great importance to unify the theory of the "four-confidence" with the ideological and political work of colleges and universities, and to combine the theory with social practice, so as to establish firm socialist political belief, reshape the education of core values of college students and enhance patriotism. Therefore, we should follow the law of ideological and political education for college students, take ideological identity as the logical starting point, emotional identity as the important way, and political identity as the fundamental direction, so as to cultivate college students to truly become the firm believers and exemplary practitioners of socialist core values.

Abstract: Education is a means by which people develop and acquire knowledge, skills, values and attitudes. It paves the way for development and plays vital role (serve as a catalyst) in bringing socio-cultural, economical, technological, political and environmental advancements. In case of our country, the government takes different measures to enhance the development; one is by education. But our education system faces different challenges. Among them is our students are not taking learning as their own responsibility rather they consider it as a fulfillment of having some kind of certificate. In short, they are not actively participating in the classroom. This study tries to address how to improve classroom participation in economics students from Samara University by Appling experimental action research. In doing so, the results of the study were, before policy intervention the classroom participation were so weak and poor which was only 14% of students were participate from total number of students in the classroom; whereas after policy intervention classroom participation were so nice compare to before, which was 40% of students were participate from total number of students in the classroom. At the end of the day the researchers were recommended that the concerned body could undertake the inside mentioned policy interventions (actions taken) for sustainable improvement of students’ classroom participation.

Abstract: With the emergence of the massive educational data, education data mining techniques have extensively drawn considerable interest from scholars to explore the relationship between students’ achievements and other factors. In this study, the data set about the students’ achievements of Portuguese in two secondary education schools in Portugal is selected for education data mining, which involves the personal information, social and school related factors. To analyze the relationship between the students' achievements and other factors, this study proposed an ensemble model based on weighted voting for predicting the students’ achievements of Portuguese in the final period. First, the raw data is preprocessed using some basic methods, including dummy coding, correlation analysis, standardization, and normalization. Second, the isolation forest algorithm-based outlier adaption is applied to deal with the data set to enhance the robustness of the ensemble model. Finally, two base classifiers, i.e. gradient boosting decision tree and extreme gradient boosting, are integrated to form the ensemble model. The experiments are presented for verifying the superiority of the proposed model by comparing with five base classifiers, including gradient boosting decision tree, adaptive boosting, extreme gradient boosting, random forest, and decision tree. The experimental results demonstrate that the ensemble model performs better than other base classifiers in classification, and prove the validity of the outlier adaption based on isolation forest algorithm.

Abstract: At present, new knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering and petroleum equipment is emerging, which puts forward requirements for increasing teaching knowledge points. Engineering education professional certification also requires controlling the theoretical class hours on the premise of student-centered. In order to explore the teaching strategies of mechanical specialty in petroleum industry colleges and universities under this new situation, the new knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering and the frontier development trend in the field of petroleum machinery and equipment are combed, as well as the requirements of the current machinery industry for personnel training are analyzed. The case teaching method of integrating new mechanical engineering knowledge into petroleum machinery professional courses is proposed, which can teach students more knowledge points without increasing the class hours, and train students’ ability to apply multi-disciplinary knowledge to solve complex engineering problems according to professional certification requirements comprehensively. Combined with two courses of the oil and gas field downhole equipment and oil and gas field hydraulic machinery, the teaching case of pipe string with special thread and plunger pump is designed by using the method in this paper, and the practice in the teaching has received a good effect. The study recognizes that the integration of mechanical engineering new knowledge into the course of petroleum machinery specialty and the use of case teaching method can effectively solve the contradiction between the increase of knowledge points and the control of school hours under the new situation, which is conducive to the cultivation of mechanical engineering talents to meet the requirements of industry development. Abstract: Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many medical training and further education events have been converted to online seminars. This raises the question of whether the same quality outcome can be achieved with this type of event, as with face-to-face events. This is particularly true for Balint groups, where a high degree of interaction takes place and non-verbal communication between the group participants also plays a big part. Balint groups as face-to-face events have an increased risk of infection for the participants and are no longer approved by many employers to avoid staff shortages due to doctors falling ill. In the anonymous survey of participants from different groups, the evaluation by the on-line participants actually showed advantages, compared to a face-to-face event. The online format even leads to doctors who would normally not be able to attend a Balint group now taking advantage of this training. Balint groups can therefore be a support in doctors' work, especially in situations of great workload - as in the current pandemic. Disadvantages of this format are clearly outweighed by the advantages. The results suggest that, online Balint groups and face-to-face events should continue to be offered simultaneously and the outcomes should be further investigated.
