Abstract: This study aimed at exploring the extent of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) utilization by Classroom Teacher program at the faculty of education at Isra University during the practicum. The sample of the study consisted of 77 student teachers who had made been enrolled and participated in field visits as part of the practicum as well as the five supervisors at Isra University. The findings of the study illustrated weaknesses in both student teachers’ preparation courses on how to use ICT effectively across the curriculum, and ill execution of the practicum.

Abstract: In this paper, we explore the pattern of cooperative education which is based on automobile engineering. This means the university and enterprises will pay their common efforts to cultivate talent students. And how to do it well would be our real purpose, practice and research we should do now and then. In the research we find out that cooperative education is the important means of excellent engineer’s training which is compatible with economic development and coordinated with education reform. We also establish a base for both university and enterprises to fulfill this cooperative education. After several years practice and research we get some ideas and results which can lead us to go on doing it well. Finally, we point out something we need to improve later, and the difficult we are now face to realize this improvement. And also a conclusion is mentioned.

Abstract: This is a review paper on using Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to reposition science education in Nigerian colleges of education. The paper looked at science education as the study of biology, chemistry or physics along with principle and method of education. Public-private partnership was viewed as voluntary arrangement between non-governmental organization and government to execute or jointly carry out a project with the aim of sharing the profits and bear any involving risk together. Highlight of poor situation of science education in Nigerian colleges of education due to corruption and other factors were discussed in this paper. Practices of PPP in some countries and the benefits in PPP including what science education may gain from PPP were highlighted in the paper. Recommendations were suggested at the end based on the conclusion of the paper.

Abstract: Interest in constructivist pedagogy gives rise to a series of research in education, especially in training future teachers. In this perspective, we have observed that the fundamentals of constructivism face teachers to certain background problems that have been generated by the paradigm changes and are, at the same time, connected to the need for constructivist and strategic models. The model that we have framed valorises specific principles and it is based on the construction of mental priority. In this chapter, we are showing the stages of a technological model that we developed within The Educational PTCT Project (The Initial Pedagogical Training of the Constructivist Teacher – 2008, 2009). The project was tested from 2010 to 2012, during the Curriculum Theory and Methodology course. We are emphasizing the fact that, in using it in practice, students can achieve very good results about their constructivist learning style. In the present study we are going to certify the efficiency of this model which we have named the C.I.R.C.U.I.T. Model. The results we have obtained with the experimental group give us the right to say that the model we have developed can bring a part in facilitating studying in the academic environment. The conclusion we came to is that constructivist teaching and learning represent a strategic option in forming future teachers, also creating the context of forming specific competence in teachers.

Abstract: We study knowledge and competencies of Brazilian university students after an one year course in linear algebra, concerning various aspects: the global landscape of linear algebra as seen by students, how they do cope with modelization problems through linear algebra, what are their knowledge and competencies about the duality of representation equations/parametrization of subspaces of Rn, their ability in calculations for solving linear equations and their understanding of the symbolic algebra used in linear algebra. The results are coherent with such previous studies, which underlined that the learning of linear algebra by students is generally poor after a one year course.

Abstract: Publication activities of PhD candidates as a result of an independent creative exploration and research are becoming an important part of the publication outputs of the University. Seeking opportunities for publishing results of scientific research of young researchers is becoming a priority task of information management. Publishing papers in journals and proceedings of top international quality is the criterion for the University quality evaluation. Current academic milieu requires searching for new methods of using information and organisation of informational structures which are reflected into its new services and products.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to assess students' learning from term projects. A term project is a hands-on assignment that require students to apply ideas, theories, concepts, or principles learned or studied in class to a new situation/real life scenario. Term projects in ENVS 4413 Principles of eco-industrial development are designed to help students connect theory with practice. The aim is to enhance students' learning of the course materials and to give them experiential knowledge of how the course materials are applied in the workplace. A qualitative method was used in the study. Term project reports, midterm exam papers and final exam papers submitted by students were the sources of data used in assessing students' learning from the term project. Term project reports and exam papers submitted by students were assessed in terms of solutions suggested for the problem situation, eco-industrial theory applied, the relevance of the theory applied, and the degree of effectiveness of the student in using the theory to profer solution to the problem. Data analysis showed that 87.5% of students in the class accurately diagnosed the problem, used appropriate eco-industrial theory in providing suitable solutions to solving the encountered problems and was highly effective in using the appropriate theory to solving the problem, 12.5% did not use the theory effectively. Findings from the students' performances revealed that term project aids students' learning and enables them to connect theory with practice. This assures the compliance of the Bachelor of Applied Environmental Science (BAES) degree program with the original program design and facilitates the success of Mount Royal University's BAES degree students.

Elementary and Secondary School Teachers vis-à-vis Knowledge: Some Sociohistorical Considerations about the Problem of Teaching Knowledge

Abstract: For most of the past thirty years, North American research on teacher education and on the teaching profession has focused on the knowledge bases of teaching, and on the courses of action teacher education programs should follow in order to incorporate this knowledge. The present paper is a contribution to this field of research. It does so from a sociological and a historical angle which it must be pointed out, is rather a minor and peripheral option compared to the psychological paradigm generally adopted as far as research on teaching goes. Our perspective allows us to complete and enrich the usual lines of approach related to teachers' professional knowledge. A multifaceted knowledge comprising several types of knowledge acquired from educational institutions, professional training, curricula and daily practice, teacher knowledge thus appears to be essentially heterogenous. But this heterogeneity is not due only to the nature of the types of knowledge present; it also results from the teaching profession's situation vis-à-vis the other knowledge producing and knowledgeable groups as well as educational institutions. In the first part of the present essay, we try to reveal the relationships of exteriority linking teachers to curricular, disciplinary and professional training knowledge. These relationships of exteriority are today part of a social division of intellectual labour between producers of knowledge and educators, between groups and institutions devoted to the noble tasks of knowledge production and legitimization, and the groups and institutions devoted to the tasks of education conceived in the devalued form of the execution and application of pedagogical techniques and know-how.
