Abstract: From the perspective of religion, philosophy and science, the animal world is a part of nature, and interacts with the human world to jointly shape the natural world and create the present state of human world outlook. However, the animal ethics in eastern and Western religions have different positions and contents because of their different ideological origins and values. The Abrahamic religions all embody a kind of religious humanitarianism in the relationship between man and animal. Compared with Western religions, Buddhism and Jainism do not embody a clear human centralism position in terms of doctrine, and Taoism also holds a kind of gentle bio-egalitarianism. With modern science development, no matter the human centralism animal ethics in Western religions, or the biological egalitarian animal ethics in Eastern religions, there are some conflicts and fusions on theoretical and practical aspects. Through the comparative study of Eastern and Western religions in animal ethics, we can clarify the differences and integration of animal ethics in the Eastern and Western religious systems, and actively seek the coexistence and development of modern science and technology and religious animal ethics in theory and practice, which has a very important positive value in promoting the harmonious development of human and nature and improving the ecological environment.

Abstract: Different from ZF axiomatic set theory, the paraconsistent set theory has changed the basic logic of set theory and selected paraconsistent logic which can accommodate or deal with contradictions, it effectively avoids the whole theory falling into a non-trivial dilemma when there are contradictions in set theory. In this paper, we first review the history and current situation of the praconsistent set theory; then, we give three kinds of paraconsistent logic which can be used to construct the praconsistent set theory among many kinds of paraconsistent logics. And then, we analyze the differences of methods of the paraconsistent set theory with strong or weak structure of paraconsistent logic and get different paraconsistent set theory. Finally, we verify that paraconsistent set theory is a new method to solve the paradox of set theor. The development of paraconsistent set theory can solve the difficulties in the development of set theory in a unique way, which is not only the extension of the application of paraconsistent logic, but also the new form and new trend of the development of set theory.

Abstract: This article gives an ephemeral overview of the most influential views on the nature and process of change in science. Theory change in science is one of the most important issues in philosophy of science. Scientific theories are subject to change beyond space and time. There are various factors that lead theories change such as discomfort among the theories. In this paper, discussing how the rationality of science was related with its methods and methodologies, I tried to show that it was after Kuhn’s work the Structure of Scientific Revolutions that the debate on theory choice becomes a central issue in philosophy of science. Following this the process in theory change in science can be deductive and inductive or rational and non-rational. According to the account of Kuhn’s scientific change there are four steps in the process of scientific change; the predominant one is normal science, anomalies, crisis and finally a new phase of normal science. Then I discussed some of the philosophers who criticize Kuhn’s work Structure of Scientific Revolutions, particularly popper’s criticism on Kuhn; in this regard I also forwarded Kuhn’s response for his critics. Finally I critically compared Kuhn’s and Popper’s ideas on the evolution of science.

Abstract: k'ang Yu-wei and T'an Ssu-t'ung were both very fond of Buddhism, and were very fond of the relationship between Buddhism, Confucianism and Buddhism. In fact, there are similarities and differences in the recognization of the relationship between Buddhism, Confucianism and Buddhism. k'ang Yu-wei ranked Confucianism, Buddhism and Buddhism, while T'an Ssu-t'ung ranked Buddhism, Confucianism and Buddhism. This order not only shows the same arrangement of Buddhism, but also shows the different arrangement of Christianity and Confucianism. In fact, their different ranking of Buddhism and Confucianism itself is a value judgment, indicating that k'ang Yu-wei supported Confucianism and T'an Ssu-t'ung advocated Buddhism. Although k'ang Yu-wei loudly advocated the establishment of Confucianism as the state religion in reality, he affirmed that Confucianism was applicable to the present and Buddhism to the future in the multiplication of Confucianism and Buddhism. T'an Ssu-t'ung, like k'ang Yu-wei, believed that Buddhism is and will be prevailed in datong society. On the one hand, both men affirmed the compatibility of Buddhism and Confucianism, and described benevolence as the common purpose of both. On the other hand, the definition of benevolence by k'ang Yu-wei and T'an Ssu-t'ung follows the unbearable human heart of Confucianism and the compassionate heart of Buddhism, and finally deduces two different forms and patterns: k'ang Yu-wei constructs the Buddhism of fraternity, and T'an Ssu-t'ung constructs the Buddhism of equality.
