Abstract: Figure is the idea one has of the world, whereas form is the totality of determinations, it is the essence in its phenomenal manifestation. Human knowledge takes three forms, that is, ordinary, scientific and philosophical. In the ordinary form men can have knowledge without recourse to particular wits; in scientific form knowledge is organized and disciplined and seeks to establish constant relations between phenomena, in the last instance, in the philosophical form knowledge has the characteristic of offering ultimate explanations to all phenomena. The split between science and philosophy that began in the seventeenth century with Descartes's dissociation between the thinking/self, the ego cogitans, and the material thing, the extended Res, creates a tragic problem in science: science is not known, does not have the self-reflective ability. This drama also concerns philosophy, which, no longer being empirically nourished, suffered the agony of the philosophy of nature and the failure of the philosophy of life; There was as much extralucidity in Husserl when he diagnosed the crisis of scientific knowledge as metaphysical delusion, stratospheric evasion in the idea of "transcendental ego." This study is articulated in three points 1) figures and forms of sensitive2) science, technique and technology and 3) Cultural meaning of technologies.

Abstract: This work presents the philosophical in-depth of Annang values education and its implication for the creation of a new technological Africa. Thus, the problem of how Annang values education can develop and activate mental prowess for creativity, sustainable development and provide standard values for future African civilization, becomes imperative in this era of perplexed identity. Various attempts at technological development in traditional Africa have been based on the notion of technological transfer, which is inimical to the traditional African growth and development. Indeed, to foster a new technological development for Africa through Annang values education, the work utilizes primary sources while deploying Egbeke Aja’s notion of a philosophy of education with these basic elements: New Naturalism, New Holism, and New Immanentism; that would aid in creating a new technological Africa. The work found out that, for Africa to control their technology, it must sieve out those traditional African authentic values in the present harmonious civilization and be more concern with the value based curriculum that imbued the metaphysics of the people it meant to serve. As this will help in discovering techniques and constructing guidelines on how to deal with the problems created for Africa by the existential evolution.

Abstract: How can we enhance global peace through philosophy and culture? This question is very relevant to the contemporary world given the crises situation of world peace and the challenge of using philosophy and culture to enhance global peace. This paper is of the view that the crises being witnessed in the world can be alleviated if there is a concerted examination and understanding of philosophy and culture since crises or wars pervading the world are products of culture. But the praxis of enhancing global peace needs the theoretical and systemic examination of culture and philosophy. Peace is a necessary catalyst for the overall development of human existence. This paper, therefore, argues that philosophy and culture can be used to enhance world peace if they are taken as two basic principles guiding the conception of peace are strictly understood and adhered to. But do people have a political and philosophical culture that will promote the enhancement of global peace? The systematic analysis of philosophy and culture reveals that they could be used as theoretical and critical tools for the realization of global peace. The paper, therefore, advocates for a complete reorientation of humans in philosophy and culture as capable of promoting global peace since a proper understanding of philosophy and culture will enable human beings, especially world leaders, to be genuine participants in promoting global peace.

Abstract: In the philosophy of science, an impression is created that scientific explanations are perhaps a preserve of physical and natural sciences. Although social scientists in organizational research have borrowed most modals of scientific explanations from natural scientists, they have met harsh criticism from their counterparts in the natural and physical sciences. This paper set out to explain how scientific explanations can be constructed successfully in organizational studies using modals borrowed from natural sciences. Basing on the critical literature review, the paper has successfully argued that, organizational research applies models of scientific explanations using sense making. In the case of the covering law model, it has been argued that the model connects well with sense making in organizational research in many respects since sense making recognizes explanandum in terms of organizational events that people experience in everyday life. The paper has also indicated that in the statistical-probabilistic model explanations are based on non-deductive reasoning and make it hard for the researcher to predict the explanandum with certainty except with some degree of probability. This applies in both organizational studies as well as in natural sciences. Like in the statistical probability model, causal-effect relationships can also be demonstrated statistically in organizational research. Moreover, the fact that organizational researchers have different traditions from those of ‘number crunchers’ does not make such traditions inferior. Lastly, the unification model portrays scientific explanations as constructed in a unified design. The paper has shown that in organizational research, unification manifests quite differently from the natural sciences. Organizations operate in unstable condition in the sense that there are so many disciplines under organizational research.
