Abstract: Faced with an unprecedented and challenging socio-political situation at home (Nigeria), the Igbo struggle for survival and relevance throughout the world has taken various forms in the last five decades. Industry, commerce, education, invention/innovation have been undertaken together with an unprecedented spate of emigration, which has seen the Igbo everywhere in the world. The Igbo, wherever they may be found, stop at nothing, unleashing their potentials in a virile, resilient and competitive spirit which they have come to be known for through time. Even in diaspora, the Igbo understand their Igbo fellows as the stiffest competitors and strive to outdo each other. As a result, the Igbo have been understood by others as selfish and even among the Igbo, there is the unfortunate misconstrue of such as hate, selfishness and individualism. Inversely, these socio-ethical images of the Igbo are antithetical to the content of traditional Igbo morality which is characterized by conviviality and community. This research builds on the nature, being, becoming and existence of the Igbo individual. Evidently, the individual among the Igbo is at the heart of Igbo existence; the attainment of which is a lifetime struggle. The Igbo individual like the Igbo universe is fluid; its reach and positive impact among the Igbo speak its quality and relevance. In its fluidity, it is becoming; in its reach, it spans beyond earthly existence; in its impact, it is community-oriented. This ontology will give insight into the Igbo socio-economic engagements wherever they may be found. The research employs the tools of Igbo cultural institutions, rites of passage and entelechy of human struggles to offer a robust perspective for understanding the selfless and altruistic nature of the Igbo individual which is the ultimate attainment of that individual, viewed in this work through the prism of Onweonye. The research employs the technique of documentary hermeneutics and analysis combined with in-depth library research method of inquiry into the complex composition of the individual in Igbo ethnography and ontology.

Abstract: From the perspective of actors' pursuit of rational self-interest, Gauthier's contractarianism links justice, rationality and morality, he attempts to deduce moral principles from non-moral premises by combining the method of contract theory, rational choice theory and game theory, and establish a just contract between rational actors to provide a plan of action for "How can I pursue a better life?". He tried to argue why rational actors chose to cooperate rather than from a normative point of view. He tried to prove that the actor's choice of cooperation is the result of rational choice because cooperation will improve the actor's situation. He believes that rational actors will choose to cooperate with people in a just and rational way, and rational actors will voluntarily abide by the contract and limit their behaviors in order to pursue a better social life. But his argument for cooperation lacks stability fails to fully prove why we should choose this mode of cooperation instead of that mode of cooperation and his argument for the rationality of cooperation is not convincing enough. He fails to demonstrate that collaboration is better than non-collaboration at all times, nor does he fully demonstrate that it is irrational to collaborate with actors other than constrained maximizers. Although his argument has some flaws and cannot convince all opponents, it provides us with a new answer to this question.

Abstract: The historical issue of the clash of civilizations from traditional to postmodern has led to emergence of reactionary and evolutionary ideas. My goal is to compare the philosophy of history in Polish Catholic and Iranian Islamic philosophical schools. Avicenna, AL-Farabi, Ibn Muskawiyyah, Averroes, Ibn Khaldun have presented political hypotheses about the progress of history and its degeneration, and they discovered laws governing history that are the key for analysis causality in history. The end of history in Shiite and Catholic thought, is related to the emergence of an expected man, a Savior, who gives a meaning and significance to religion, politics, sociology, and brings a society to perfection. The belief in Jesus in Christianity as an expected Man is the cause of progress and social changes. This evolutionary approach in the form of Messianism and issue of evolution are the main topics of religious philosophy. It is common to Iranian and Polish political philosophy to consider the unseen unity of existence. A significant trace of Polish thought about philosophy of history has emerged in the post-Hegelian philosophy of August Cieszkowski (1814-1894), who called his philosophy of history “historiosophy”. It is based on the acceptance of unseen world. Concepts of causality in ideas based on stillness of history and Marxism and any other materialist thinking that do not believe in the unseen or the spiritual have never completely convinced Iranian and Polish thinkers. Among contemporary Polish philosophers W. Julian Korab-Karpowicz has focused on the issue of evolution. He is an interpreter of the philosophy of Josef Hoene-Wronski (1778-1853), who was the founder of independent school of Polish religious philosophy in 19th century and has developed the concept of Messianism. In many of his works, Korab-Karpowicz has criticized philosophical systems of communism, liberalism, and capitalism in the context of the Catholic Christian thought whose influence has continued in Poland in the postmodern period. He has also referred to the philosophical work of Al-Farabi. The result of Al-Farabi's classical philosophy is thus an influence on two philosophical systems, both Western and Eastern, whose practical outcome is a theory of evolution. It is because Al-Farabi has set theoretical foundations of progressive and degenerative processes in societies. His work is like a gold mine of political philosophy based on Plato, Aristotle and Islamic political philosophy from which the rules governing evolution can be extracted. This influence can be seen as an inspiration of Korab-Karpowicz’s ideas of human evolution and attainment of happiness. They are fully compatible with theoretical foundations of Al-Farabi political philosophy.

Abstract: As we are living today in an inter-dependent globalized world, which is a world created by us, we cannot aspire to build happy societies unless our political thinking and action are guided by values. The primary value in socio-political life is cooperation. It is integrally connected with freedom. Korab-Karpowicz proposes seven principles that characterize a happy society. It can lead us to the after post-modern, evolutionary world, a world in which we would become more conscious about our need to engage moral and intellectual evolution, that would eventually free us from violence and open new horizons for human development. For Korab-Karpowicz, if we are to overcome many maladies from which humanity at large has been suffering, it is necessary to promote philosophical thinking in the public domain. This paper is an attempt to critically discuss W. Julian Korab-Karpowicz’s work titled Tractatus Politico-Philosophicus with special attention the seven principles that characterize a happy society.
