Abstract: The purpose of this study is to learn about the establishment of socialist democracy in Vietnam during the renovation period in Vietnam. This study focuses on analyzing theoretical and practical bases; evaluating and analyzing new contents and problems posed in the perception of socialist democracy and establishing socialist democracy in Vietnam through 35 years of renovation. In this study, the author makes two hypotheses: 1/ The theories and practices of establishing socialist democracy in Vietnam during the renovation period shows that the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people are right; 2/ The establishment of socialist democracy in Vietnam today has achieved many great achievements. Besides these achievements, there are also problems with establishing socialist democracy in our country in the renovation period. The results of the study show that building and perfecting the socialist rule-of-law State, renovating and democratizing the organization and operation of the political system under the leadership of the Party are the conditions for exercising socialist democracy in terms of politics in Vietnam. Besides, developing a socialist-oriented market economy also creates favorable conditions for establishing socialist democracy in the economic field. In addition, it is necessary to build and develop an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, unity in diversity, national characteristics, humanity, and science are actual conditions for exercising socialist democracy in the field of culture in Vietnam. To obtain the research objectives, the author has used scientific research methods such as analysis and synthesis, deductive and inductive, abstraction and generalization, logic, history, and comparison to come to the findings and recommendations of the study.

Abstract: The Philippines is one of the countries that are susceptible to natural calamities every year it is experiencing countless numbers of typhoons which resulted in the loss of lives and massive destruction of properties. This phenomenon can be attributed to the increasing destruction and deterioration of the environment caused by excessive and misguided principles. Accordingly, these principles are motivated by the uncontrolled numbers of the human population, economic sustainability, and even political agenda. Although these factors are significant in understanding the cause of the ecological crisis, nevertheless it does not capture the roots of the problem. This paper aims to provide a deeper analysis on the issue using Martin Heidegger's framework particularly his analysis on the nature of revealing that dominated modern technology. The “enframing" attitude of modern technology, as well as the parasitic response of humanity to the revealing of the natural world, is the root cause of the ecological crisis. Although humanity is destined by the enframing attitude brought about by modern technology, nevertheless, it does not make him a slave. A true relationship with the natural world that is free from the im – posing character of enframing is possible through “sober thinking”. A kind of thinking or realization that took place after the intoxicating effects of the technocratic paradigm that enables us to return to the natural revealing of nature and thrives for a possible revealing that enhances both the human person and the physis.

Abstract: Evolution is a perennial challenge before Nature, self, society and the world. This article engages with the discourse of evolutionity offered by W. Julian Korab-Karpowicz to characterize our contemporary condition. Korab-Karpowicz argues that our contemporary condition is not so much characterized by tradition, modernity and postmodernity but evoultionity which refers to processes of evolution on the part of self and society. This article engages with this perspective and argues how evoultionity is characterized by evolutionary suffering which then leads to evolutionary flourishing. Evolutionary suffering refers to pain and suffering undertaken for realizing evolutionary transformations of self, society and the world. Evolutionary flourishing refers to realization of beauty, dignity and dialogues in self and society as evolutionary process. The article also argues how the present moment is not only characterized by clash among epochs but by dialogue among epochs. The theme of clash of epochs which draws on the discourse of clash of civilizations needs to engage with discourses and practices of dialogues among civilizaitons. Here the article offers the perspectives of multi-topial and multi-temporal hermeneutics to understand dialogues among epochs. In multi-topial hermeneutics one moves across multiple terrains of self, society, culture and the world and in multi-temporal hermeneutics one moves across multiple temporality. The article thus argues how dialogues among epochs need to be understood in the context of dialogues among cultures, civilizations and temporality. The article argues how in our contemporary moment we need to realize that we all are children of Mother Earth which is called planetary realizations in this essay.

Social Harmony or a Happy Society

Abstract: In this paper, I set out to prove that once we correctly identify human nature and organize our world according to the principle of cooperation, we can arrive at a world of social harmony. We can then engage in conscious human evolution, aiming at moral and intellectual perfection. Hence, we can arrive at evolutionity, a new evolutionary epoch which would replace the current conflicting and disharmonious times of postmodernity. The current world disharmony, which can be observed especially in the field of politics and economics, is largely related to the erroneous modern Western philosophical assertions identifying the human being with an individual moved by desires and the will to power, and the phenomenon of life in an endless conflict. An additional influence is provided by the flawed postmodernist conceptions of culture and family. These errors have enormous implications with regard to how we picture the world in which we live. They hinder our evolutionary capacities. I want to show that cooperation is an integral part of human nature, and that the society organized according to the requirements of nature is a truly happy society. I support my argument by statements from Tractatus Politico-Philosophicus.

Accentuation: A Key Factor of Native Languages in African Philosophy

Abstract: The pattern of the pronunciation of words in any part of the world depends on the people’s accent. In native languages, what gives a word its meaning is largely dependent on how the word is pronounced. For instance, ‘akwha’ could mean up to three different things in Etche language and the only way to identify the particular meaning of the use of the word at any point is the accentuation. Thus, accentuation plays a very vital role in the meaning of words in native languages. The absence of accents in words most times leaves such words ambiguous, and sometimes they are used out of context. Accentuation therefore, is very important in the language game of words and their meanings in native Africa. Words are accentuated with marks called diacritical marks. These marks are fixed based on the tone of the word and the tone in turn determine the pronunciation and meaning of the word. Using Etche as a place of reference, this research work therefore seeks to unravel the role of accents in native languages in philosophy. It will use the analytical method of inquiry as it intends to analyze the effects of accentuation in the meaning of words in African languages. This is a fresh area in the field of African philosophy and therefore, the most common challenge encountered as it is also the case with many other researches in African philosophy, is lack of sufficient materials on the topic under research. It also does not in any way pretend to be a close investigation, rather it is open to criticisms, reviews and additions, especially in the context other languages or dialects.
