The target population under study is all enterprises in the five developmental sectors in five towns from both Wolita and Dawuro zone Administrations. The study was conducted between June 2016 March 2017. In this study, primary and secondary data types and sources were used. The instruments to collect primary data were questionnaires. Sample size was 347 which determined by using Yamane (1967) formula and individual informants were selected via stratified random sampling technique. Abstract: The objective of this study was to empirically test how these dependent variables are influenced by features and benefits in advertising copy. Advertising copy testing research has produced conflicting results regarding the independence of recall, recognition and attitude constructs. Most copy-testing research, however, has focused on consumers’ responses to the ad as a whole. The study reported here focuses on sentence-level manipulations to determine how variations in sentence patterns influence consumer memory and attitudes for advertised claims. A within-subjects experiment using magazine ads as stimuli was conducted in which the presence or absence of pairs of consumer benefit and product feature sentences were manipulated. The dependent variables were phrase recognition, morpheme recall and attitude toward the ad. Results showed that benefit and feature sentences did not improve recognition memory for phrases. However, ads with benefits or features enhanced morphemic recall and attitudes compared to the control condition. In particular, for ads that contained integrated benefit sentences and feature sentences together, an interactive effect was observed. Readers of these copy blocks displayed more positive attitudes toward the ad and higher levels of morpheme recall than benefits-only or features-only ads. The results are consistent with predictions from construal level theory, which has shown that benefit-based appeals are more effective in high construal situations while benefit- and attribute-based appeals are equally effective in low construal situations.

Abstract: Recent tragedies have placed a global spotlight on the county of Haiti, which many observers believe to be a nation mired in incurable poverty. Many organizations in the developed world have previously engaged in various projects and relief efforts to improve the living conditions in the country and develop the infrastructure of the nation. However, some observers have questioned the sustainability and beneficial results of these efforts. There is a reasonable concern that some of these projects generate more harm than good. Strategically, it is necessary to consider whether sustainable development occurs through these efforts, and if not, what changes can be made to improve the benefits from outside intervention for people living in the developing world. This paper will provide a framework for that evaluation, by looking at the history of development efforts in Haiti, primarily through examining the nation under a lens of food security and resource development, two commonly accepted metrics for economic development. The paper will then explore suggested means of making future efforts more sustainable and effective using techniques that have had proven success elsewhere within the developing world. Finally, the paper will examine the specific focused efforts of personnel associated with the Village of Hope, a successful educational and health care NGO mission in Gantier. It will be demonstrated that much of the success of the Village of Hope is based upon their recognition of these fundamental effective development techniques.

Abstract: The study used descriptive statistics design type to assess the role that MSMEs are playing with respect to employment in Ghana. The study adopted the methodology employed by Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) to undertake a nationwide survey on the Integrated Business Establishment Survey II (IBES II, 2016). It used the data generated by GSS from IBES II 2016 Survey report. The data set used included the employment levels (numbers), size and the status of employment (permanent and temporary) offered by MSMEs in Ghana. It was revealed from the study that the MSMEs in Ghana offered employment of about 82 percent to the working population in the country with marked differences in the regions. Out of the employment offered by MSMEs in Ghana, about 81 percent is for permanent whilst 86 percent is for temporary employment. The Micro enterprises employed larger percentage of the working population than the Small and Medium enterprises. We are recommending that the central, regional and district structures of governance in the country should continue to initiate, develop and implement pragmatic policies that will enhance the growth of the MSMEs’ sector in the country. The programmes and policies to enhance the growth of the Sector should be focused on specific areas and size of the MSMES. The MSMEs sector at all levels is still confronting with both endogenous and exogenous challenges such as access to funds, lack of managerial skills and applications of appropriate technologies, registration and regulations issues as well as record keeping and access to international market. All stakeholders in the sector should work hand in hand to resolve these challenges for optimum operation of the MSMEs in the country to help reduce the unemployment situation in the country.

Abstract: Cross-border acquisition activity led by Chinese enterprises have become increasingly conspicuous and prevalent in recent years. However, many of them were obstructed by foreign governments on the ground of “Threating National Security”. Using a sample of 543 cross-border transactions made by China’s listed companies from 2000 to 2014, this paper examines whether the acquisition of foreign political sensitive assets, which may threat foreign countries’ national security, affect the likelihood of acquisition completion and acquisition performance. We find that central government-owned enterprises are more likely to acquire political sensitive assets than private-owned enterprises and local government-owned enterprises. The political sensitive acquisitions are less likely to be completed than others. The market response of acquisition announcements is significantly greater for political sensitive acquisitions than for other acquisitions, which suggests that political sensitive acquisitions increase shareholders’ wealth. Finally, we show that the positive effect of political sensitive acquisitions on shareholders’ wealth is stronger for private-owned enterprises than for state-owned enterprises. Overall, our findings suggest that Chinese companies should reduce the political risks of cross-border acquisitions and try to achieve a win-win for the nation, market and enterprises when they implement “go-out” strategy. In academic value, this paper offers a new research angle on cross-border acquisitions, which is the impact of political sensitive target on acquisition transactions.
