Abstract: Previsualization is a visual representation based on computer graphics and 3D animation. It has been a well-known tool in movie-making, used to present, explore, plan, and communicate creative ideas before final filming. The communication aspect of this video-based visualization is a less-explored area, especially in the design and development of programming-based animations. This research aims to understand Previsualization’s significance in envisioning script-based web animation. Mixed methodologies were used to gather programmers’ perspectives on Previsualization in the process of designing three.js web animation. The research used semi-structured interviews and Likert Scale based questionnaires as data collection tools. The interview data of twelve professional programmers provided their perspectives and thematic analysis provided key inferences. The Likert scale questionnaire obtained programmers’ perceptions on the functions of Previsualization and the usability in the context of three.js animation. The study also used quantification to check the central tendency and the collective attitude of programmers towards Previsualization. According to the programmers, Previsualization holds functions of a good visualization and is the best way to prototype animation ideas. It can present a substantial amount of information related to three.js web animation, and it is an effective tool for designers to communicate animation ideas to the programmer. The programmers have high-level acceptance and a positive attitude towards it. They perceived it as more effective than conventional visual representations, such as drawings to present most visual features and prototype script-based three.js animations.

Abstract: This study seeks to highlight the concept of avant-garde as a viable and radical approach to instilling creativity in fashion design practices in Sekondi–Takoradi, Ghana through putting together different materials to represent shapes and forms in the ultimate sculpting of silhouettes. This experimental exercise is a sequel to an earlier study that gauge the level of engagement of fashion students and practitioners regarding the avant-garde concept within the study area. Even though the avant-garde concept could be useful in terms of creativity and material exploration, the practice is not common around the study area due to the high cost of fabrics and other materials and the fact that it has not been part of the training of fashion practitioners. There were a series of experimentations and material collaboration in this study that led to a number of garments and accessories. In all, twenty (20) pieces of garments and accessories were made from a selection of low-cost fabrics, feathers, beads, canes, straw, glitter, leather, can spray and other fibrous materials. The garments were showcased at two major fashion runway events namely the Technique Style Fashion Show organised by the Department of Fashion Design and Technology, Takoradi Technical University in Takoradi and the Portrait of Reality Show, organised by Exquisite Modelling Empire in Accra. It is anticipated that this project will serve as a pointer to reinforce the concept of avant-garde as a creative design paradigm in fashion design practices in Sekondi-Takoradi and Ghana as a whole.

Abstract: In the process of urban development, the background of the times is different, the needs of citizens are also changing, therefore, the concept of urban planning is constantly updated and improved. In order to make the traditional urban infrastructure and cultural content meet the needs of new citizens, urban renewal is imperative. Urban Renewal is not only embodied in the systematic project, but also in the micro-environment transformation. Micro-renewal is a convenient and concrete way to express the quality improvement of public space. Taking Beijing as an example, with the development of the city, the facilities and functions of the courtyard dwellings, which occupy the mainstream of the traditional architecture in the city, can no longer meet the needs of modern residents of the courtyard dwellings, through infrastructure upgrading and public art intervention to achieve the activation of the old space. This paper makes an in-depth study of the practical case of Nestle CAFÉ in Beijing, combs the relationship between public art and traditional courtyard dwellings from the perspective of art installation, and explores the possibility of public art becoming a medium of dialogue with traditional courtyard dwellings, and the function of the urban Micro-renewal which is carried to activate the old space. This paper demonstrates that public art is an effective mode of urban Micro-renewal.

Abstract: Today a necessity has arisen in a critical socio-philosophical analysis and the development of such a theoretical framework for contemporary globalization that will consider this latter as a visual and ideological impact of cognitive biocapitalism on the collective consciousness of nations, which manifests itself as repressive pressure in the form of Aesthetics of Globalization. This distorts the art system, distorting the fundamental freedom of creative expression of artists, critics and academics, as abstract mass hybridization of professional thought in the context of global public art’s visual order is implanted by the cultural-industrial logic of the transnational art market ruled and managed by globalized capital, which has transformed the art, the artist, and the analyst into merely trivial commodities. Since the millennium, commodified art production in the world is perceived exclusively as a business integrated into politics and economics, but the capitalization of the arts ignores the national interests of unbiased processes of culture-creation, unifying artistic expression, depriving it of spiritual need for self-identification. This latter needs to be further researched, in particular in the context of the development of Ukrainian image-formation practices, which devalues its potential in the new socio-political conditions. Therefore, the article emphasizes the need to return to the Ukrainian socio-cultural dimension of the evaluation criteria of transcendental aesthetics, especially since cordocentrism and Christian kalokagatia have historically formed the basis of Ukrainian culture and mindset.
