Abstract: Nano Co doped TiO2 prepared by simple impregnation method and characterized by powder XRD, high resolution scanning electron micrograph, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy and infra-red spectroscopy. DRS reveal that the absorption of TiO2 wavelength is shifted to visible region when Co2+ ion doped. PL spectra show that the emission of light is higher and the liberation of iodine is more for Co doped TiO2 than TiO2.
