About This Special Issue
The field of consultative-liaison psychiatry is assuming unprecedented significance due to the growing incidence and increase recognition of psychiatric comorbidity stemming from medical conditions. Before now, less attention was being paid to this area generally by clinicians and particularly sadly by clinicians in the field of psychiatry. A re-emphacy on this seemingly neglected area has become necessary due to the fact that these cases are not only poorly recognized but equally poorly managed. This has so far increased as well as worsened the morbidity level, decreased the prognosis as well as increasing the mortality among patients with medical conditions associated with psychiatric comorbidities.

This issue is to heighten the awareness and dissemination of quality and advance research in the area of consultative-liaison psychiatry.

Original research papers are therefore solicited in the following areas:

Aims and Scope:

1. Psychiatric comorbidities in cardiovascular diseases
2. Psychiatric comorbidities in endocrine diseases
3. Psychiatric comorbidities in respiratory diseases
4. Psychiatric comorbidities in viral infectious conditions.
