About This Special Issue
The main idea of the Special Issue is not to prove, but to demonstrate the Primary root’s existence. It is not a dead record but a living substance that continues to live and to generate new meanings, natural to human’s linguistic consciousness. It is natural in children’s linguistic development and reflects ancient peoples’ nominative cognition. Primary root's sense doesn't change, it translates through ages. The meanings are transformed by metonymy and metaphor; such transformations get the form of the words in different languages. For the primary roots' studying is introduced cognitive-comparative etymology method. The primary root reflects the process of language cognition. As a result of this process certain elements of reality were identified and nominated. The primary root’s identification can be done with the aid of involving as many languages as possible, together with their linguistic traditions and accumulated cognitive knowledge. More probable is to identify the primary root’s graphic form, considering its ancient before writing origin. The logics of world perception concentrated in primary root can be observed in proverbs and some mythology plots. It can be supposed, that in old times ancient speakers noticed new phenomenon of the world, comprehending it, giving it the name. And the special associations, built by them, continue to repeat at the following stages of the cognitive construction of the existence.
