About This Special Issue
Endovascular techniques have revolutionized the field of vascular surgery in the modern era and have made a significant impact on intervention for aortic aneurysmal, peripheral vaso-occlusive and reno-vascular disease. However, in other areas such as carotid artery stenosis, the role of endovascular intervention is more uncertain. Endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR), for example, offers a much less invasive intervention compared to its open counterpart and means treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm can now be offered to patients that were previously precluded from it on the basis of age and co-morbidity.

The premise for this special issue is to highlight some of the most recent and pioneering endovascular techniques and their evaluation compared to traditional open surgical techniques or of their novel application. Original articles, review articles and case reports will be invited from worldwide centers.
