About This Special Issue
Comparatists and critics are invited for the 2015 Special Issue of Humanities and Social Sciences, titled Gender Roles in Media
It is a fact that Media in its several forms including advertisements, books, television series, films or movies plays a large role in creating social, psychological, cultural rules or norms. Media has a huge influence on society’s way of thinking, or life as an effective tool giving several messages male and female sexes to everyone from seven to seventy. Especially women and children are beging adopted different gender roles or stereotypical gender roles. This special issue will be focused on women images, gender stereotypes, society’s perception of gender roles, representations of male and female roles in television, films, advertisings. This issue's aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results on their researches and to share comparative analyses, comments and suggestions. The scientists may give new approaches to research data about questions and matters such as how gender identification is reflected and women are represented, why media uses stereotypes, what sorts of stereotypes there are in media, traditional patriarchal taboos/norms etc.,
