About This Special Issue
General Introduction: “Seeing is believing” is the motto for this Special Issue. The need for non-invasive diagnostic procedures has led to the improvement of imaging techniques applied to all medical specialties and hepatology is no exception. A variety of options is available in this field, from ultrasonography and contrast enhanced ultrasonography to magnetic resonance imaging and cholangiography. Besides the morphological aspect of the liver, another key point of diagnostic imaging is the study of blood flows and velocities. Imaging techniques have implications both in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases (transarterial chemoembolizations for example). On the other hand, intraoperatory or anatomopathological findings can contradict imagistic results and it is important to correlate these aspects. This Special Issue is dedicated to original research and regarding the use of imaging in the diagnosis of liver diseases. Observational or interventional studies, as well as literature reviews, are welcome; also, rare and interesting case reports or case series may be published.

1. Classic and controversial aspect of ultrasonography
2. The use of contrast enhanced ultrasonography
3. The use of Doppler interrogation
4. The importance of CT scan and MRI in liver pathology
5. Colecistography, ERCP
6. Imaging techniques in vascular abnormalities of the liver
7. Treatment options for liver diseases using imagistic techniques
