Abstract

(Background) In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization, the original land used for industrial production has been abandoned, and industrial plants have experienced the evolution from prosperity to decay. (Purpose) From the perspective of industrial culture inheritance, this study takes Tianjin No. 1 Machine Tool Factory as the practical object, and explores the landscape renewal strategy applicable to industrial heritage from the aspects of architectural style, landscape space and industrial culture. (Methods) Firstly, the industrial elements of Tianjin No. 1 Machine Tool Factory are summarized, and the characteristics of the current industrial elements are summarized. Elements such as factory buildings, roads, structures, and places where historical events occurred in the machine tool factory are analyzed using the GIS platform to analyze their distribution characteristics and intensity, based on which the core industrial cultural area of the machine tool factory is delineated and the industrial culture that needs to be inherited is summarized. Secondly, the concept of spatial narrative is introduced, and according to the characteristics of the machine tool factory, the narrative theme, narrative sequence and narrative rhetoric are formulated, so as to utilize the spatial narrative to realize the inheritance of the industrial heritage of the industrial culture lineage. Finally, the industrial heritage landscape renewal strategy is tested through design practice.(Conclusion) In the protection of industrial heritage in the core area, the "acupuncture" renewal strategy is adopted to realize the inheritance of industrial culture through the use of spatial narrative points. Combined with the results of GIS analysis, the spatial narrative points are placed in the core industrial culture area, forming a systematic narrative landscape through the combination of point, line and surface space. (Significance of the study) This study explores the landscape renewal strategy applicable to industrial heritage, enriches the industrial heritage renewal system, and provides reference for the future industrial heritage renewal practice in Tianjin.
